About Dr. Vanoo Jayasekeran
My Story
I trained to be a doctor at Newcastle University in the North East of England. I completed my Postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and was admitted to the Royal College of Physicians (UK) in 2002.
My experiences as a junior doctor fostered my deep interest in the gut in health and illness. This lead to being accepted for Specialist Training in Gastroenterology in Manchester. During this exciting period, I also spent 3 years studying the interconnections between the brain and the gut.
After completing my Specialist training in both Gastroenterology and General Medicine in 2010, I arrived in Australia to undertake a Fellowship in Interventional Endoscopy at Fremantle Hospital.
In 2012 I moved to Sydney to undertake a Fellowship in advance techniques in treating colon polyps at the internationally acclaimed Westmead Hospital.
I returned to Perth to take up my current position of Consultant Gastroenterologist at Fiona Stanley Hospital. I have been in private practice since 2014 and manage a wide range of gastroenterology and liver conditions.
